The Home Stretch

Well here we are with the Semi Finals done and only one game to go. Seems Pakistan had no trouble making into the Final as they handily beat New Zealand by 6 wickets with 7 balls remaining. Must have been some excitment there. We watched (actually we read the play by play) as India put up a formidable 188 runs with Singh putting up 70 himself. Then we bit our finger nails as Australia tried to claw their way back. It looked OK for awhile with Hayden and Gilchrist starting to put some numbers up, but then could never quite get that ball smacking over the boundry. Michael was elated, and I was sad as India knocked out Australia by 15 runs. So now the big questions are, "how many trades do you have for the final match up?" and "can you get a full team of 11 that will play in the last match?" Me? Not quite. But I still have a strategy and am hoping to fend off the last minute attacks. After careful analysis of the moods of the players in America, here is my take: Anna is gunning to beat a Robinson (anyone will do and currently Paul is taking the fall), Michael is hoping to be better than average, Bob doesn't want anyone to know he has no Pakistanis nor Indians and no trades, Missy is doing her best to dethrone her daughter (I though parents were suppose to support their kids?), and I am just hoping to hang on. What are your hopes and dreams?
Here's the worm to help clarify your goals:

Good Luck on Monday Everyone! Katy

Well done, Katy!! Your strategy was superb, as was Missy's. Karan is doing a fine job. All of England feels mortified that America has beaten them, not only in the soccer (er football) but also in the Fantasy Cricket. You are a fine nation but we will be back. South Africa has been well represented by Moira and Sandi, Michael and Paul(we have to excuse him as he has been without internet for some weeks and now has gone off to Paris for the weekend - how could he at this crucial time!). I would like to beat Henry but we have both run out of trades so it is just damage control at this stage. Wasn't that Yuvraj just something!! Moira phoned last night after the match, absolutely elated that Aus had lost - she should talk to Michael since I had been betting on them, for goodness sake. What fun it has been with all the comments. Hope you all reach your personal goals on Monday.

I was just planning when to sit down and watch the England v. US soccer game when I decided to check in on the blog. I find it ironic that the game spoiler should come from Catherine, the person most likely to not know since she hates soccer. OOh well, I'll watch anyway since I am sure England puts up a good fight.

Yessss, indeedy, I'm with Michael being thrilled firstly that the Oz were beaten (good for me putting some of them in my team and thereby hexing them; see, I have something to be proud of, too) and secondly that the Indians walloped them. It feels better that we were beaten by the guys who beat the Australians.

It's not so appalling to be beaten by Katy, everyone. She's a little excitable but well-intentioned overall. Well done, Bob and Missy, you seem to have hatched a goodie.

I loved playing. Thanks all. I have a few irons in tomorrow's fire, but too few to mention. (Isn't that a line from a song?)

Here's looking forward to meeting you all again in the next fantasy! (Did that come out right?)
